Thank you to those who are enjoying the trip report - I apologize for a delay - I was out of town on business and did not have my notes with me.

I did find Matt Barrett's website to be a wealth of information!

DeborahAnn and takemewithu: I envy your trips ahead of you. I hope there are a few helpful hints in here! You will surely enjoy every moment of your trip!

Here is a bit more:

Day Nine Mykonos

We were so successful relaxing by the pool yesterday that we decide to do the same again today. After another lovely breakfast overlooking our cobalt blue cove, we chill the day away overlooking the Aegean. Not too shabby!

Later in the day, we take the bus into town. The shops in Mykonos are fantastic – ranging from the high end Louis Vuitton, etc. to little t-shirt shops, cute little boutiques, etc. Once again, we find ourselves at Little Venice for sunset – this could never get old. I am drinking my Aperol Spritz which has been my cocktail of choice on this trip and so refreshing in the heat.

We walk around to the harbor and choose one of the restaurants there – I cannot remember the name, but Mario and I have the lobster spaghetti and it is wonderful. We walk back through the town to find gelato again for the boys. This is just a special time in a special place and it seems like a privilege to be here!

Day Ten Mykonos to Santorini

We wake early to enjoy one more perfect breakfast in paradise. It is so sad to leave this enchanting place! We bid adieu to the lovely staff – they seem like they became our friends in our brief time here!

From the states, the entire “ferry system” seemed so confusing to me. This was one of the odd parts of the puzzle and the last that I put into place. At a friend’s suggestion, we booked the Masterjet on the club car level. The hotel driver takes us down to the pier – our boat is a little late and there doesn’t seem to be anyone to ask questions to, but there are more and more people gathered here so we’re all in the same boat (as it were). The master jet arrives, unloads and we follow the crowd onto the ferry. We store our luggage like everyone and proceed upstairs and follow the signs to the club car. This all happens so quickly and so efficiently. Before we are even seated, we are on our way. It is a smooth, easy ride but we arrive about an hour late into Santorini.

Upon our arrival, I cannot find our car from the hotel. Fortunately, I quickly find the number to the hotel and she tells us that their driver waited but had to leave. She asks me to find a cab and they were pay for the cab when we arrive to the hotel – fair enough. We find a cab, he puts two of our large suitcases in the trunk and two on the top of the car and we take off – seems like we are going straight up – Mario is scared that our luggage will fall of the roof, but somehow it stays. We drive up to the sailing center in Imerovogli and we are met from our hotel staff. They grab our luggage and we begin the short walk to our hotel …. Honeymoon Petra Villas: www.honeymoonpetra.com .

There are no photos that can prepare you for Santorini – none do it justice – it is spectacular eye candy from every view. We quickly get settled into the family apartment (which is lovely) at Honeymoon Petra and meet by the pool for lunch, drinks and savoring the most captivating view. As sad as I was to leave Mykonos, if I had known how truly amazing Santorini was – I may have spent the entire vacation here! We get cleaned up to come back to the terrace for cocktails at sunset – truly the most amazing view from Honeymoon Petra and we are spoiled by their staff. It seems to be a place where time stands still – beauty and peace only exist here!

The boys tell us that we need to have a date night – they are going to walk into town and have pizza at Il Cantuccio (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran..._Cyclades.html) – they later tell us that they had a magnificent time and raved about the pizza!

Mario and I decide to take a cab into Oia for dinner. We first walk upstairs at 1800 – lovely restaurant, but we decide after a cocktail to walk down the path a bit – perhaps it’s just the night we’re there, but service seems a bit stuffy and hard to get. We walk up to Ambrosia (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran..._Cyclades.html)
– Mario speaks to the owner – they have one table for two and our evening is fantastic! The food is spectacular, service is wonderful, views amazing – perfect and romantic way to spend our first evening in Santorini!

KimiG- What a great report. Isn't traveling to magical places and getting to experience it with your family, especially through the eyes of your children the best? PLEASE CONTINUE. We are headed their with our twelve year old daughter next June. She got to chose the destination of our next trip. Can't wait to read more!
