Tuscany in Fall
I will be travelling to Rome for business in the fall of 2001. I would like to take my wife, our child (which will be around 6 months old) and another couple to spend a couple of weeks in Tuscany. None of us would have been to Italy, but have travelled a lot.
This is our first child and we have no idea what it might be like to travel with such a young child. Any opinions/advice? Also, what might we expect for weather in October?
Another bit of help the board might be able to offer, are ways to sell this whole idea to my wife. The ideal location/rental villa at the right price will go a long way.
thanks,
trevor

The most difficult part of our trip with our (then) baby was the plane ride. Be sure the baby doesn't have any ear infections BEFORE you go as the air pressure in the cabin will cause distress. Other than that the baby was actually kind of a plus or minus depending on the people we encountered. People who liked babies were drawn to us and bent over backwards to be helpful, but people who weren't into babies...

Trevor, we were in Italy the last two weeks of October and the weather was fantastic. No rain, highs in upper 70's except for two days in Venice, overcast and 55ish. Personally, I see no reason to be encumbered with a 6 mo old if you have any options. Either way, Italy in the fall was wonderful.
Enjoy your trip.
