Hello, <BR> <BR>My wife and I have reservations to travel long distances on Turkish Airlines this summer (from the US to Turkey). Is it a good and reliable airlines? <BR>Thanks <BR>Ken

My wife and I have flown on Turkish, both internationally and within Turkey. We found their personal service to be excellent, aircraft were immaculately clean, food was quite good, and ground service was flawless.

Ken - I just returned from Turkey last week. We flew on Turkish Airlines. It is one of the best airlines that I have flown on recently. The stewardesess (sp?!) are VERY nice and they all speak English. The planes are really comfortable. The food is quite reasonable and they are not cheap with the wine. <BR> <BR>If you are going to be flying with them a lot then you might want to sign up for their Miles&Miles program and get some points for flying with them. You can sign-up on the plane. <BR> <BR>The worst part of our trip is flying with American Airlines between Toronto and Chicago - they are always late and over booked. But I have never missed my connection to Turkey (so not to worry if you are also flying on AA).

We've only flown with them from Istanbul to Athens. Have little to add on Al's comments. It's as he says. <BR> <BR>The only "problem" area could be carry on luggage. No one on our flight was allowed to take pieces larger than standard on board. They had a sort of measuring gauge. If the piece didn't fit it had to be dispatched as checked luggage. Possibly this was particular to our specific flight. <BR> <BR>Paulo

Ken, <BR> <BR>I took a few trips on Turkish Airlines in 1996 and was astounded to find that they still allowed smoking on their aircraft. I should not have been surprised, considering how popular smoking is in many parts of Turkey. Their policy on smoking may have changed, but I thought I would at least mention this. <BR> <BR>Have fun!
