Turkey and Greece

Will be in Turkey Istambul for 9 Days. Would it be better to book tours online or book it when we get there
.Have a good idea where and what to see. Should we book an airport/hotel transfer or pick up a taxi to the hotel near Sultanahmet and what to watch out for. Any recommendation for tour companies in Turkey and Greece -Santorini.

You didn't mention what time of year you'd be there, or what kind of tours you are thinking of. But I'd recommend having the hotel arrange pick up. The best tour guides get booked, so reservations for them are probably a good idea.

Online reservations are always better. You have a better chance of getting a place without much hassle that way. If possible Hotel/Air transfer is better than local taxis.

Thanks for the feedback. I will in Turkey end of August.
Thinking of Cappadocia and the surrounds ,a quickie for 3days.
Gallipolli for a day tour, half day for the Bosphorus and maybe the rest to explore Istambul. What you reckon team?

For Cappadocia, we stayed at Les Maisons de Cappadoce and it was one of the highlights of my traveling life, not just Turkey. Through them we found our guide Mustafa. That's not a unique name unfortunately, but he owned a carpet shop in the tiny village square in Uchisar which should narrow it down. We had a fantastic tour with him and can't recommend him highly enough.

Where on the Bosphorus are you planning? Can you do that as part of Istanbul? We didn't see Gallipolli so I can't comment on that.

FYI, his full name is Mustafa Yedek and his contact is [email protected] or through the Les Maisons hotel.
