Today, I thought I'd look at the latest list of what can and can't be brought in carry on luggage on the TSA website.

It still says "All creams and lotions including Neosporin or first-aid creams and ointments, topical or rash creams and ointments, suntan lotions, moisturizers, etc. - not allowed in carry-on"

However, it then lists at the bottom of the list... "Personal lubricants - Up to 4 oz." yes for carry on" :-\

Is it just me, but this seems very funny! I may be naive, but why would you need "personal lubicrant" during a flight..well, I can think of some reasons..

And my other question is, can I pass off my Bath & Body Works hand lotion as my "personal lubricannt?"

I suppose they somehow want the mile high club to keep going on (rimshot)...but you know...seriously...I believe that might refer to saline solution (?). I'm pretty sure I read on the TSA sight about being able to bring 4 oz of saline solution which I desperately need to take on board with me so I can take my lenses out to sleep and then put back in nearing arrival.

On one website, they clearly stated KY Jelly...

This thread has the potential to become way to gross, so here's what I think they mean . . .

They really do mean K-Y Jelly, but for use as a lubricant for people who have colostomy equipment and such that they must maintain.

Saline solution is listed separately...so it's definitely KY or similar...

"Personal lubricants" could mean booze.

This is ridiculous. It should be all or nothing. What is to stop a terrorist from claiming that his "explosives" are just a personal lubricant?

Did anyone see the movie where Katherine Zeta Jones played a wealthy San Diego housewife/drug smuggler who got drugs across the U.S./Mexico border by turning the drugs into puppets. When placed in water, the puppets dissolved into heroin.

What is to stop a terrorist from doing this kind of thing in the future with explosives?

Christine, I would suggest that in fact flying is quite safe, but that we are crazy to think that these new regulations are making us any safer.

These regulations only inconvienience the "non-terrorist" traveller. As a terrorist, how hard would it be to sick your tube of liquids down your pants, or in a money belt? Metal detectors don't detect liquids, there is no way to know if someone has a liquid on their person going through security. Or Mr.Terrorist gets a prescription for cough syrup and dumps the contents and fills with explosives. It is really silly how easy it would be.

The latest rule I heard is "no gel filled bras". Who exactly is going to be checking for this??

Most of the banned substances aren't being checked for, only requested that you don't bring them, it is almost an honour system. Last I checked, terrorists don't abide by the honour system.

Do they check if "the girls" are natural or filled with gels? Or only the bras?

I have some male friends who would love to apply for the job of checking if women are wearing bras with gel ?

Most of my bras are lightly padded and I've had screeners sort of squeezing me for the past year and a half. They also ask me to shake my hair back and forth (it's long and thick and they think I might be hiding something in it?)and I feel really ridiculous, like I'm in a bad porn movie. But it's better than having them run their latex gloved-hands through my hair.

Stock in that Victoria Secret push-up bra with gel will go wayyyyyyyyyy down with this newest TSA no no.....
