French people, old and young alike, seem to love sing-alongs. I've been to concerts in Paris by popular singers like France Gall or Francis Cabrel or Véronique Sanson where nearly everybody in the audience sang along with the star on many songs. It's fun.

Hi , I hope you haven't flown to Paris yet ! You definitely must have a brunch on Sunday at the Musée Jacquemart Andre , their website is both in French and English , it's www.musee-jacquemart-andre.com , you'll never regret it , food and the museum are great.For rollerblading , it takes place every Friday Night at 22:00pm for good level , you're being followed by a police car for security , and must wear a protective helmet.For family like type rolling strolls , they usually take place on Sunday afternoons.
The Puppet theatre at the Luxembourg or at the Montsouris garden are very old fashioned and French , at home , every parent in love with our roots (I am French) takes his children to see Guignol (our national puppet hero ! )
You won't understand a word if you're not French , but I believe you'll perfectly understand children laughter and screaming!!!
Hot chocolate must be drunk at ANGELINA's on the rue de rivoli , it's supposed to be the thickest and creamiest of Paris , but the best part usually are the dignified old ladies with furs and diamonds and pink to slightly purple hair , with microscopic badly brought up dogs , and incredible rings on their fingers!!!!
Catherine Deneuve lives on the place St Sulpice , so it's a 5 minutes walk to les DEUX MAGOTS...where everything you'll eat or drink is soooo expensive , but you must have a pastry by Pierre Hermé , then walk behind the church and find the little place de Furstenberg .
The rule is mostly to walk along an avenue and then to throw yourself on the streets on the sides.
Always have a metro map with you , our metro stops are so close one to another that it ll be more helpful then a regular map.

George Whitman was originally from Boston.
His daughter now runs the shop.
There's an antique musical instrument shop in the Marais.
There's a little island in the heart of the Bois, you cross by boat and have lunch at the Le Chalet des Iles on Lac de Bois de Bologne. A find by serindipity, wandering around without plans.

One of the best things, and cheapest, if to take a cruise down the Siene in the tour boats. They offer then during the day and also at night- which is when most famous sites are lit up. The loading docks are also near Princess Diana's small flame monument, above the place she died.

On the first Friday of every month at 3:00 in the afternoon at Notre Dame the Holy Crown of Thorns is displayed. There is a short service and then all who wish can approach the relic to view (or kiss, if you wish to). I attended last June; the service and procession took about two hours. It was unique and very moving.

this thread brings back memories, my cigale and another exotic framed insect from Deyrolle (in a shadow box) hangs from a wall over my desk.

My lucnh ay Fornaisse sipping a digestif with the owner.
Fibnally taking a picture of Marcel Aymés man who walked thriugh walls that was sculptured by the famous actor Jean Marais(Cocteau knew he was more than a pretty face) I almost bought a book in the Marais, "how to tell if your dog is gay."
