Trip To Mykonos
Hi,
My husband and I want to go back to Mykonos( We were last there 3 years ago and fell in love) I was wondering a couple things.
1. What is the cheapeast time of year to go? Does anyone know of any airlines that offer great prices of flights? I am flying from NJ. I know that my resort is only open from April-October, so I would have to go during that time
2.Also last time we flew there, we had to stop in Germany, then fly to Athens and then fly to Mykonos. Is there an easier way to get there? Perhaps, fly to London and then get a direct flight to Mykonos?
Thanks for your help!

May-June is the best time to go for low prices, good weather and to beat the crowds. Flying to London first is a good idea. Cheap flights to Athens are readily available on Easyjet from London-Stansted, but flights that far in advance aren't available yet.
Check the internet for cheap flights Athens>Mykonos on Aegean Airlines beginning in January when the 19 Euro flights are first offered. They go fast.
Another option would be to fly from London-Stansted to Rome or Milan on Easyjet or Ryanair and pick up a cheap Aegean flight from there to Mykonos via Athens. Again, check with Aegean in late January for the cheap flights.

I was in Mykonos during the month of April....it is GORGEOUS with all the wildflowers in bloom. Jacket weather, though, even in the sun and the water was far too chilly for swimming. So, keep this in mind if you are going for a "beach experience."

Hi there - the only problem with Stansted is that it is a complete pain to get to if you are flying into Heathrow or Gatwick.
There are charter airlines which you could consider to Mykonos:
www.xl.com
www.thomascook.com
www.firstchoice.com
Bear in mind that these fly week to week (so out on a Tues, back on a Tues, etc) but you may be able to fly one way (I know that XL will fly you one way). They are also reasonably priced. For example, a return Gatwick-Mykonos, leaving & returning on Fridays, costs £178 in May 2007.
Hope that helps!

We were in Mykonos May 29 - June 2 of this year. The weather was GREAT. Not too hot but warm enough for the beach. It made it really nice for visiting Delos. We didn' roast like we have in the past when we've been there a month or so later.
We also got low season rates on our hotel, which was nice.

One more question for everyone! Last time we were there we stayed at the Mykonos Grand and loved it. Does anyone know of any other great hotels in Mykonos that I can look into to? We are looking to stay at 200 Euros a night.
Thanks!
Thanks!
