In addition to produce I’ll add ham. Even the sliced pre-packaged variety you buy in a grocery store has more flavor than anything you buy here.

Just sayin’
Oh, yeah!~!!!!!! the strawberries!!! We stopped at a market in a village about 30 minutes before closing, and bought some. The seller spoke no English, and we no French, but in my pidgin French I asked him "ou est la fraise" (thinking he'd mention a town), and he replied "la foret" (meaning forest). Those strawberries were far, far better than any I'd ever had in the states. Intense flavor!! It was as if he'd boiled down some strawberry extract, and injected it into each berry.

I just read this again too. Zebec, you were such a help when I was planning my own extended stay in Provence in 2020 (that was cancelled and rebooked for 2021.)

You have brought the area’s charm to life. Such a wonderful report.

A reprised 'Merci' to all. I am happy to hear that some have found our TR helpful. Usefulness is a key requirement for any TR that we might produce, otherwise it can feel like LOOKATMELOOKATME with little balance and less interest. I always view the creation of TRs with one question in mind: would I find the report useful myself?

Am currently putting finishing touches to our Montreal/Quebec TR from this past fall. Our earlier London/Cotswolds one is on the shelf for the time being. Both of these past two trips involved an emotional component untypical for our travels.
We leave in a month for Rome, Ischia and the Amalfi coast. Its been 33 years since, for the latter.
I am done. the TRist

PS Starrs, why doncha' start such a thread? Great idea!

Btw, those who might want to see the associated visual imagery for this TR could check out or two foto essays here: 'D'Aix' plus 'Cuckoo for Cucuron.'
We are miles away from preparing the Lourmarin, Avignon and Uzes fotos. Been busy with other things.

I am done. the baguette
