I loved your reports. Mainly for the sense of excitement and the surprises you talk about.

I spend so much time in the UK I'm not often "surprised" by anything anymore. But your reports brought back how exciting it was when everything was still brand new to me.

I do LOVE being totally comfortable and "used" to things - sort of like an old friend. But you described so well the fun of discovering new and unexpected things.

It is funny you mention that because thats what I was talking about with my hot Mel Gibson look alike taxi driver. He asked where I was from and he said oh are you near Niagra Falls and he sounded all excited like a little kid. I said yes unenthusiastically cus to me Niagra Falls is no big deal and a place we used to go on school trips- but I would never go there now.

He said he was the same way, he drives all over London and passes things that people die to see all the time without even glancing over.

I think with all there is to do and see in London it'd take me a life time not to get excited.

I was laughing at myself and my reaction to everything! I was giddy about everything.

I even died when I saw the little school kids in their cute little uniforms!! Absolutely adorable!!

My mom asked me how things were and every word out of my mouth was either fabulous or delightful!

I had a blast and the thing that made the difference was my intense lack of travel experience and my sincere desire to have a goodtime.

Before I left I said I wasn't going to complain about anything, long lines, obnoxious people, idiots....nothing was going to ruin my trip and nothing did!

It is funny how we get used to our homes and don't really think about or pay attention to some of the sights that others would be dying to get a glimpse of.

On an unrelated note, I got a job offer while I was away- they are offering me next to nothing and I turned em down- they wrote me back to ask what salary I was looking for. I haven't responded yet. I'll make em sweat for a day or two.;-) Plus, I wouldn't be able to get my funky apartment or my china cabinet on what they were offering.

I have to get back to the UK and I may end up working a crappy job to do it- the sacrifices we make eh?!;-)
