Cutesy and world-renown wine towns like Nuits-s-Georges and Give?-Chambertin (sp?) and Beaune of course are accessible by train from Dijon as well as other little villages if you take the "Michelines" or really local trains that run often enough

Judy you may want to check the bus schedule (especially bus 44 that goes from Dijon to Beaune and Chalon)
http://www.cotedor.fr/jahia/Jahia/ac...couvrir/pid/15
or directly here (pdf heavy to load)

Give?-Chambertin (sp?) is Gevrey-Chambertin Pal (Kerouac is right about your French! ;-) )

Sans doute l'invitation concernait uniquement les 31 septembre qui tombaient également le jour de la Saint Glinglin.

Oh Pal I'm so sorry! I saw your message yesterday and when I started to answer you (I was still laughing), my connection stopped.
Anyway I'm not sure my present guest would like to share the apartment with you.
BTW he's done a lot of videos about Paris by bike (and on foot) and he has just started a serie about Burgundy, have a look!

KidstoLondon, thanks a lot for the postcard of Ellicott city, it looks cute. I'm still not able to send emails...

Merci pour l'invitation pour 2009 - rendez-vous (rends-tu) au gare de dijon, avant l'heurtoir de quais numero 2? Sept 31em, 2009, d'accord.

Pal il n'y a pas de quai n°2 à Dijon, letters only. Trains from Paris usually stop on platform A and leave from platform J.
Et le heurtoir est trop loin! Dijon n'est pas comme la gare de Lyon, ce n'est pas un terminus...

loving the "franglais".

Myles Kington [uk journo] has made a whole career out of it.

Dijon is working its way to the top of my "to go" list very quickly. Thanks for the tip about not going in the picking season, David.

felicitations, ann
