The name is "Es Baluard". Many consider it the best restaurant in town. Do not expect the refined gourmet cuisine which is so abundant in Barcelona but solid, regional cuisine with the freshest fish and seafood (the fishing boats dock on the beach right in front of the restaurant).
The specialty is Zarzuela (fish and seafood casserole). Turbot is also excellent. But what do I tell! Look at the pictures on their website:

thank you again, I will remember this place. I love the location in the town. We will be there 3 days staying in a friend's empty apt. We are very lucky. Sadly my partner does not like fish even though his father grew up in Figueres but this may be explained by the fact that his mother was British, no offence and yes he likes fish (battered, of course) and chips. I like crab and prawns etc. but not too extensive with the fish dishes but there are lots of other choices. My partner has said he is concerned that all we will get is fish on our trip and I said, no way, there will be everything. Anyway I know a Greek woman that doesn't like kalamata olives and she sells them in her parent's bakery/cheese shop.

As far as I remember, the sole at Es Baluard was indeed battered - however not as thick as the British like it (so that it tastes mainly for fat).
Of course, you can get meat or vegetarian dishes everywhere - but seafood is the specialty on the coast.
BTW, I have made the experience that some people who usually despise fish and seafood do like it when it is really fresh.
E.g. our son did not like fish - except in very good restaurants and until in our hometown a new dealer opened his business who now sells us really fresh fish. Now, he is crazy for fish! Obviously, mainly a matter of freshness (look for clear eyes and rosy gills).
