BTW, too bad you couldn't delay your trip by a few weeks. Spring is the season for white asparagus in that region in Europe, and you wouldn't have any trouble finding "Spargel menus" in every restaurant in Bavaria! I still drool every time I think about how delicious they tasted. I've tried having the white asparagus here at home(imported from Peru) and they don't taste anything like the ones in Europe.
