trip from rome to amafi coast

traveling from rome to sorrento or AMAFI coast for a long weekend in july, need suggestions

my suggestion is to do it.

one option is to take the train to naples, and take a boat to either ischiia (i loved it) or capri (worth seeing, but ischiia is much better).

the other option is to go to a town on the coast like amalfi or positano. i liked amalfi very much.

....or take E* train from Rome early to Salerno. Mini bus leaves Salerno Train Station for both Amalfi and Positano. You will not find anyone there speaking English....go to Sportello inside Termini and buy tickets. The buses arrive 10 steps outside door; sign on front of bus. Not given to hyperbole, but the minibus trip along the coast is the most unforgettable trip you will ever take.
