trip for the birds

Hi, I have two bautiful parrots, I'd like to take with me on vacation. Inspired by my friend Barbara's intelligent birds, I thought I might try to take them to see Italy, tho they don't speak Italian. Will I have problems getting them on the plane and will they be allowed in hotels?

That first post is not mine, in spite of what you may think. I therefore posting here just to give advice.

You will have to disguise your pappagalli as little old ladies (emphasis on litlle). Dress them in conservative black, with a shawl. The feet must be covered. Claws are a dead giveway.

It would be helpful if they can speak to the locals in their own tongue. Because you want them to blend in with the oldsters, it would be better to tutor them in dialect. An intelligent pappagallo should be able to master the niceties and be able to comment appropriately in limited social situations.

And for those of you who are not giving these pappagalli sufficient respect, see below and learn something!

http://www.mecca.org/~rporter/PARROTS/grey_al.html

http://abcnews.go.com/onair/CloserLook/wnt_000303_CL_parrot_feature.html

http://www.sciam.com/0496issue/0496scicit06.html

http://www.123compute.net/dreaming/knocking/alex.html

http://www.alexfoundation.org/research/articles/harvard/harvard.html

http://www.africanature.com/Orig%20Africa%20Nature/African%20Birds/meetalex.htm

http://www.goodnewsforpets.com/petworld/archive/3b004_birdbrain.htm
