trip for parents

HI! I am new to this board! I am looking to arrange a trip to Europe or my parents (age 62). Could somebody give me some ideas of wrhee to go? Time of year that is best? My dad is an artist, my mom loves wine and beaches. I was thinking about a GO AHEAD tour but they are not super social opeople (although they would do great in a group setting) Not sure if they would do better on their own. They have never been out of the US (also both drink wine).

Thanks for any ideas!

Is this a surprise gift, and are you trying to guess what they might like? (Without knowing them, it's even harder for us to guess than it is for you.) If not, wouldn't it be better if they decide 1. where they want to go, 2. for how long, and 3. what time of year, and 4. whether independently or by special-interest or "active" small-group tour or by "standard" large-group bus tour, and then you can help them with their plans?

However, if you really are asking us to guess, just based on the info you gave, where your parents might like to go, here are some suggestions for trips that involve beaches and wine (and MUCH more):

1. Aeolian islands, Sicily (independent travel)
2. Samos, Greece (independent travel)
3. tour of Sicily
4. Crete, Greece (independent travel or tour or combination of both--not sure whether there's particularly good wine, but there's wine)
5. parts of coastal southern Italy (independent travel or combination of short tour plus independent travel)

P.S. Besides the beaches and wine, the places above would probably be visually stimulating to an artist.

P.P.S. I really don't understand your inquiry, but tried to give you some sort of serious answer with good places.
