trip/apartment recommendations needed

My husband and i are planning a trip to Europe, any advice on it is welcome. I have been to England before and northern italy. This trip we are planning to arrive in london - september 27, staying at the Hilton Trafalgor 6 nights , leaving for Rome, Oct 3, we will be staying at the Hilton hotel at the Rome airport for six nights while seeing Rome. Leaving Rome on the 9th, we will either take the train or rent a car and spend a couple of days in Pompeii/Herculeum/Naples. We want to rent an apartment(along the Amalfi Coast), to relax before returning home, beginning the 11th checking out on the 16th. Does anyone have any ideas on a place to rent? I have looked for countless hours on the internet and I want something under $1200 that has a great private terrace with sea views. We don't need to be in a noisy town, we are not into niteclubs, just restaurants, sightseeing, museums. I need help on a place to rent, I have looked at so many and just can't decide, it would be best if someone had a personal recommendation. I have sent inquiries, but I am just overwhelmed and can't make a decision. Help!!

Hi Dollie,

I have a few remarks hat I hope are helpful

1. Why are you staying at the airport (I assume FCO) in Rome? It is a 1 hr and 18E round trip. There are many nice hotels in Rome that will cost less.
Do a text search on "Rome and hotel".

2. Are you staying in the Naples area because you want to see Naples or in order to see Pompeii and Herculaneum? If the former, the Albergo Sansevero is where we will be staying on our upcoming trip.

Be sure to visit the Archeological Museum in Naples to see the artifacts from Pompeii.

3. How important is the apartment on the Amalfi Coast? There are some very nice hotels in the smaller towns at good rates. We will be staying at the LeSirene in Praiano.

IRA: thanks for the reply. We are staying at the Hilton because we are using HHonors points and it will cost us nothing to stay there, likewise at the Trafalgor.
2. You are correct, it's that latter, i will see if i can book there for the two days. and thanks about the info on the museum.
3. I looked at rates at LaSirene, they were $800 a night for a room with a terrace. Maybe I was looking at the wrong area. I really want a terrace with a view that we can relax/eat on, that's ours exclusively. do you have a suggestion on a certain room? thanks, dollie

Hi Dollie,

I just saw your post. The Le Sirene is 80 E NOT 800 E.
