Hi, if anyone can help, i'd appreciate it. We are leaving in 2 wks. I know that Trenitalia offers a family discount when 2 adults are travelling with a child between 4-12, the child is free. However, i can't seem to buy them in advance on-line without having a special cardivaggio card (something like tht). And, when i try and register for it, oops, it's all in Italian, so i didn't get very far. Has anyone used this. It was suggested in Rick Steves book, but not detailed enough. This would be a $$ saver from Rome-Venice & back again trips. Thanks in advance if you can help!!

(Socio) discounts are only available to Cartaviaggio card holdrs and you must be a resident of Italy for a Cartaviaggio card.

Usually, when you get to the page that says "choose your fare" you need only to click on "Familia".

What train are you taking?
