Trenitalia E-tickets...when do they email??
I ordered tickets on Trenitalia's web site over 24 hours ago and they have yet to email the ticket reservation. Does anyone know if this is unusual?

Mine came during the night, so it definitely wasn't immediate. Perhaps the weekend and time change has slowed it down?
By the way, the message didn't didn't have trenitalia as the sender; it was "webmaster". My server didn't recognize it and had it tagged as "suspect junk email". I almost trashed it, so look carefully at your email if you have a filter.
Hopefully you have it by now.
Buon viaggio!

I ordered 5 tickets yesterday and the email for each came just moments after the confirmation.
Good suggestion to check your junk mail box. Mine came from "[email protected]"
I'm sure you can go back in your "history" or whatever your computer browser calls it, and pull up the page where you ordered the tickets. Then you can print the page that came up and said "Order Confirmed" and that will do just as well as the receipt.
The important thing is that you have the Reservation Code (PRN) from that page. That's really all that you need to retrieve your tickets.
Good luck.

I bought several sets of tickets via www.trenitalia.com before out trip to Italy last May. We did not receive the email confirmation for one of them, but I had written down the PNR code from the website. I checked to make sure the charge had hit my credit card (it had), and then I just brought the PNR code with me. Handed it to the conductor and he printed me a receipt.
As long as you have the PNR code and you are certain the charge was processed on your card, you will be fine.

So, the plot thickens. I ordered the tickets online, got the reservation code but I checked today and it never hit my credit card and I didn't get an email confirmation. I thought the last screen of the order process looked strange so maybe it just missed a step? The last screen I saw when ordering looked like a fake credit card receipt. From there, there wasn't a button to go any further. Is that what everyone else saw? I must have missed something because it's been two days now and my credit card hasn't been charged. Strange!

It wouldn't show up on your credit card for at least a couple of days. Sometimes a week. I can't remember what came up on my screen, but I did receive the e-mail immediately. I did have a PNR number so I wasn't worried.

The weird thing was after I ordered two tickets, and was taking a break fixing lunch, the phone rang and it was VISA - wanting to know if I had indeed ordered tickets through Trenetalia! My husband was getting gasoline at the same time it turned out - so I reassured her that yes, I had and I was going to order 3 more. And I also told her that I appreciated their dilligence in tracking down suspicious credit card activity.

VERY frustrated! Even though I have reservation codes when I try to "verify the state of your orders", the site says "no confirmred requests for this user." This is after I ordered new tickets last night. No charges have hit my credit card and I have not received any confirmation emails. However, in the ordering process I get all the way through to submitting my credit card information and the last screen shows a fake credit card receipt showing a reservation code. Anyone else have the same experience?

Just to try to cover all bases I'm suggesting something very elementary. Forgive me; I'm not trying to imply anything. But, would that "fake credit card" be a way of asking you to input the OTHER number on your card? On American express it is on the front and on Visa and MC it's on the back strip.
If this doesn't work, I'd go to a TA.

ItaliaBound, I have been experiencing similar frustration with trenitalia with no response form their customer service whatever. Maybe someone here can help shed some light on my conundrum too. I am trying to book a coccetta (sp)for 4 from napoli to milano overnight 19:30 to 6:25 am and getting no options other than posto a sedere. Does that mean sleeping seats/beds are sold out or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ira-
I have three separate PRN's (2 from the original order and 1 from the second order). When I type these into their site it says they aren't recognized. I order online all the time without problems so I'm guessing it's not a credit card entering error on my part. The last screen while ordering does look strange, but then again, there are a lot of other "quirks" with this site so that in particular didn't surprise me. I guess I'm just going to have to call them directly...otherwise I'm scared I'll end up with 20 tickets!

Success Finally!! The problem was that I had set my computer not to allow pop-up screens, but at the final purchase screen of Trenitalia it pops up a separate credit card security screen. Not sure if that was just with my GM Card or with all, but it doesn't give you final confirmation and purchase until you fill that out. So, I finally have my tickets and can start worrying about something else!

I have a question about using Trenitalia's website. I was trying to begin checking on trains from Rome to Naples and it kept telling me to check a timetable for the correct times so that I could access reservations. But I couldn't find anything that would give me a timetable for those trains. I know they run hourly, but don't know if it is "on the hour" or at another time. Maybe I'm just blind and missing a very visible link, but I couldn't find timetables at all. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hi jc,
Go to http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html
The first screen asks, "leaving from?" and "going to?"
You must start there.
