Travelling between Gatwick&Heathrow
Please advise as to the best options for getting to Heathrow from Gatwick. I have 5 hours so time is not an issue. Just looking for the easiest and reasonably priced.
Thanks for your help.
Oh btw this will be this Friday bewteen 7am at noon. So rush hour may be a concern.

nationalexpress.com will take you there by bus for £17.50, or gatwickexpress.com can get you to Victoria Station for £13, whence the Underground to Heathrow costs £3.80, with an easy change at Hammersmith.
There is no particular advantage to the train unless there are two traveling, in which case a 2-for-1 can be had for the Express.

Doing this transfer through central London simply does not make sense. Think about it -- get on the train at LGW, get off at Victoria, schlepp luggage across the VERY crowded station and down stairs into the tube station, get on a tube train, get off the tube at Hammersmith (granted, an easy transfer but totally unnecessary) and walk across the platform to get on another tube train, then to LHR and wheel the bags again from the underground station to the terminals.
When instead - you simply board the express coach at LGW and get off at LHR.
And Where2Next, time can be an issue. W/ 5 hours you should be fine -- but when factoring in checked luggage, immigration and security lines, 4 hours is about minumum to make this transfer comfortably.
I've done it in 3 or less but it was white knuckles most of the way . . .

I think walking across two train stations (plus not having to spend two hours on a bus) is worth £13.
I also do as much walking, climbing, and lifting as I can when traveling - so I can eat and drink as much as I like without gaining an ounce.
If you like being pampered and your weight isn't a problem, more power to you.
