xyz,

I'm not quite clear on all of this info. I have similar questions as jobrikaill does.

I have cell phone service with T-Mobile and a quad band phone. I checked on rates to call back to the US and they were quite expensive in my opinion. I decided I'd possibly call to have my phone unlocked and then buy an Italian SIM card to use for local calls. What is the purpose of the Vodaphone Passport?

For calling back to the States, I thought I could use an International calling card with the phones in the B&B's we'll be staying in. For emergencies from home, they could just call my cell and I'd pay the international roaming. Does that work? If my family calls from their cell phones to my cell phone (which would have the Italiam SIM) do they call my local cell number from the US? In that case what charges would be incurred from US side, and on the traveler's side in Italy?
