Traveling from Paris France to Galway, Ireland
My friends daughter is studying abroad in Paris France until January 2014 and wants to travel to Galway Ireland to visit with friends. What is the cheapest way to get there? She used to take Ryanair into Knock but they do not fly into Knock anymore.

Well of course I'd take Eurostar from Paris to London from £39, www.eurostar.com (book as far in advance as poss, max 120 days), then a SailRail ticket from London to Galway for £60.50, www.seat61.com/Ireland.htm but I never was one for budget airlines!
SailRail tickets cover the train to Holyhead in Wales, the ferry to Dublin Port and the Irish train to Galway, all on one ticket. There are only two SailRail prices, advance and full price, with only £5 between them, so SailRail is great at short notice when airlines are expensive.
That would certainly be a great journey, though ideally she'd stop overnight stop in London, as its too tight to catch the first train from Paris to make the 09:10 train from London Euston to Holyhead for the afternoon boat to Dublin.

The new Aereagle service from City Link gets from Dublin Airport to Galway in 2 1/2 hours or 3 hours by the regular express service from them or Go Bus.. Far better than the intermittent service from Knock which takes 2 hours anyway. (just wish they would reinstate the Shannon-Paris route!)

I'd also check Aer Lingus.
They fly from CDG which should be easier to get to than to Ryanair's "Paris" Beauvais airport. And often are not or not much more expensive than Ryanair after you added all possible surcharges and fees.
