Travelcard question
I have done a bit of research about Travelcards and think that this website may explain it best:
http://www.moneysavinglondon.com/Tra...nd-london.html
Just wondering if anyone who is familiar with Travelcards could take a peek at this website and answer these questions:
1. The author indicates that the price for a 7 day paper travelcard is about £25.80. Does this seem right? I can't find the price listed online.
2. I understand that you can't buy the 7 day papercard at Heathrow. Do you agree that you can buy them however at the following stations: King’s Cross, Paddington, Victoria, London Bridge, Euston, St Pancras, Waterloo, Marylebone, Liverpool Street, Charing Cross.
I appreciate any help. I am interested in the 2-1 deals so think that the 7 day papercard would be the easiest way to go.
Thank you!

Hi Cadgirl,
In answer to your questions:
1. Yes a zone 1-2 is 25.80 the prices are the same as an oyster card: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/faresa...kets/4805.aspx
2. You are right. You need to go to a national rail station (look for the red double arrow symbol). You cant go to the Underground portion of the rail stations.
3. No id is required.
Hope this helps!

The 2-4-1 offer is run by the train companies who want you to use their trains. This would normally mean buying a train ticket. However as a Travelcard allows you to travel on trains in London it is accepted for the offers - but only if it's bought at a train station booking office.

Just to be clear, you CAN buy a 7-day travelcard at Heathrow - however, it is NOT printed on the National Rail cardstock, therefore, while you can buy one, it will NOT be valid for the 2-for-1 deals.
Credit cards are widely accepted at stations.

Thanks everyone. I was just at the Days Out Guide website to select my vouchers, and it looks like right now they are only good through end of September. Our trip isn't til November though. I am hoping they'll extend the expiration dates at some point.
Thanks for mentioning the three day paper travelcards. Good to know there is a less expensive option. Our trip is actually 5 days, so we'll pick one or the other.

Cadgirl, if you think you will be using public transport all 5 days, the 7-day travelcard should come out ahead than a 3-day + Oyster PAYG.
The 2-for-1 usually automatically extends to the next period. At least that's what it has been doing for the last couple of years that I've been following its website.
