Travel vignette
My husband arrived at the Zurich airport and we have a German car. There is no vignette and the offices were closed. I believe we were photographed on the autobahn but I purchased a vignette this morning. Can we still be ticketed?

Yes. They photograph the front of cars, where by law a vignette must be affixed on the windscreen. So if you drove vignette-less on autobahn, you committed an offence and fine may be due. It's not when you bought a vignette - it must be affixed when you are on autobahn.

That’s pretty much it.
You can’t drive on Swiss or Austrian Autobahns without one.
The 24 hours petrol stations sell them, you’ll find the locations on google. There’s local anti Northern European feeling in some areas of Central Europe aimed at Northern Europeans driving through their countries on the way to Southern Europe and not contributing. As a result vignette infringement are usually enforced through the hire company.
