Travel to Rafina Port - is this doable?
I understand that the first bus leaves central Athens to the Rafina port at 5:45am. If the trip takes approx. 1 hr, we should arrive at the port around 6:45ish. My question is, will there be enough time to buy tickets and get on a ferry/flying cat leaving at 7:40pm? Also, will there be a problem getting tickets on a Saturday at the end of Sept? Although we arrive in Athens a couple of days earlier, we've booked a tour to Meteora and will not have time to look for ferry tickets prior to that morning. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I agree it should be easy to get tickets and board your ferry in the time you have available. Rafina is a small port, and there are ticket agents near the bus stop. You won't have to walk very far to get to the ship. You can leave your options open by waiting to buy your ticket until you get to the port.
If you can, try to get a ticket on the Hellenic Seaways Highspeed that leaves at 0725 as opposed to Seajet2 with an 0740 departure. Seajet2 is smaller, and more prone to cancellation in high winds. If you aim for the earlier departure, you still have Seajet2 as a backup.

The SEAJET 2 is no longer run by Blue Star Ferries: their only service from Rafina is by the SUPERFERRY II
which leaves at 0805 for Andros, Tinos and Mikonos. According to the departure list for Saturday 30 September on the Greek government's web site, there are other morning departures from Rafina to Mikonos at 0725 by HIGHSPEED 2, 0735 by PENELOPE A, 0740 by SUPERJET and 1130 by SEAJET 2. The two "jets" are run by the Sea Jets Consortium. You should have plenty of time: the bus journey should be quick at that time of day, and the buses go to the port at Rafina where you can buy tickets.
