Also, if you are travelling to the train station by tube, you should go even earlier. A few years ago we missed our train because there was work being done on our subway route, and we had to take a roundabout detour. The tickets were non-refundable, so we had to purchase new tickets for the next train.

I have a question about fares, because I am not sure if I read it correctly or not. RT from Paris to London is approx. 200euro? Does that sound right? Thanks.

the uk eurostar.com web site is offering £69 return deals today.

Still maybe the high price is to pay for Tom Cruise wrecking the tunnel with the helicopter

It depends on when you book, the sooner you book, the cheaper the price. I think the lowest London - Paris return is £69. Prices go up from there.

Palenq,
No British Fodor friends scolded the OP for her chunnel remark, nearly all of the comments about it were from American contributors. I believe it's a good thing to point out the language differences when Americans are visiting the UK, if only so they don't end up in the wrong place (Liverpool STREET station instead of Liverpool Station etc). I'm pretty sure that most Americanisms would be understood in London but they may struggle outside of the big cities, I live in Hampshire and a lot of the people I know wouldn't know what an ATM is and a lot of them think a rental car is one that comes with a driver and don't even mention restrooms!
There are quite a few suttle differences in the words and phrases we use and I can understand some regulars pointing this out although a lot of the time it could be done more "gently".
Anyway after 4 days silence, I fear the OP has been frightened off.
