Travel from Seville to Lisbon late June
My wife and I, along with another couple, plan to be in Spain (Seville) in June and after 5 days there, travel on to Lisbon. We'd like to take a train, especially if there's a somewhat direct run. I've looked at a few online sites but can't tell if there is a direct train from Seville to Lisbon and/or one that does not involve bus travel as well.
Is there a direct train and where to buy tickets? Also, if not ... advice on a good way to travel from Seville - Lisbon is appreciated. I considered car rental, but the drop-off fee makes this option very expensive. And of course, we can always fly, but we'd rather ride the train.

No direct train but a direct bus to Lisbon that takes several hours. Unless you want to do something on Algarve either fly or take the bus to Lisbon.
check these sites for possible further info - www.seat61.com; BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com. There are direct buses Seville to several Algarve towns taking about 4 hours.

The only reasonable route by train is via Madrid, using the night train from Madrid to Lisbon. See: https://www.seat61.com/trains-and-ro...-to-lisbon.htm

Thanks to all for your feedback and help. I must say booking transportation for this trip has been quite the challenge. On the surface, we plan to take the train on June 23 from Seville to Madrid in the morning and catch an evening flight into Lisbon (likely TAP). One confusion I have is that some sites offer fares throughout the morning and day, wherein the only available time slot I see via renfe.com is roughly 8:00 to 10:00 at night. Am I missing something ... as in how are morning fares not available through renfe.com and are available through others?

Check www.seat61.com for insights into that - it suggests alternative sites to book thru at similar fares as Renfe is notoriously hard to use for some novices many posts here say. I suspect not all trains have been loaded yet for June perhaps.
