travel attire

We are traveling to London for a week the day after Christmas. How warmly do my teenage daughters and I need to dress? Do we need really warm coats? Does it rain?

does it rain????Is that really a serious question? It's London, not Dubai!!! Tricia- it is very likely to be cold. Dress in layers as you are most likely to be spending a lot of time inside, either shops or tourist attractions.Enjoy your week!!

Not only is it often rainy and cloudy in London, but the days are also short this time of year!
As to how warm teen agers need to dress, who knows. I am reminded of the definition of a sweater.
A sweater is a knitted garmet for the upper body that you put on when your mother is cold.
Bob Brown-that is funny..my mother used to tell me that she could tell when I was cold, my children would be dressed too warmly!
London can be mild one day and damp and cold the next..Layers are the key-warm coat, scarves, gloves.Be able to take some layers off when in over heated restaurants and stores.Dress as you would for any city in the winter in the NE,..take a small umbrella or buy one there-Have a great time...and if you find that you don't have the right clothes, you can shop!
