Travel Agent in Spain?

Can anyone recommend a travel agent in Spain? In the past, for other countries, I have often had better luck with having a travel agent find me airfare from one country to the next. I need to go from Spain to Italy. Thanks.

can't think why you need one - there are websites that can find who flies where and others for best deals...what are your specific needs

A few years back when I went to Turkey, I found that the Turkish Travel Agent I contacted was able to get me a better price for several things, including our Turkey to Italy flights. I know I can book budget carriers (I need Barcelona to Lamezia Terme), but I'd prefer to have it all booked through one airline. That would be Alitalia. They are showing almost $600 for this. I want to see if a travel agent can do better.

i see your point - i have posted on your other thread as you've probably seen. My reservation is largely based on the fact that many spanish service industries such as real estate agents and travel agents seem to think they're doing you a favour by allowing you to go through them. So you might find that the prices don't compare well. however, if you want to have a go, two of the biggest chains are El corte Ingles travel and Marsans. i can check some more if youlike but those lufthansa prices barca-bari looked good to me

I think you need to be flexible on the destination if you are looking for a deal. A cheaper flight and then a short bus/train ride will probably produce the desired effect.

You are fly from one city to somewhere in a country. In order to find out where the direct flights go to have a look at the website for the airport of BCN.

On the left there is a search facility to find where you can fly to. This will list the destinations s and then choose the airline if there is a choice. However you will have to look up the website for that airline on the internet as there is no direct link. Paying for a travel agent is not worth it unless you are not so confident with using your CC on line.

Hi AP,

The one and only time (reasons too long to go into here) we ever used the services of a travel agent for a European trip was for our Spain 2005 trip. We dealt with Clara from Madrid and Beyond. I highly recommend her.

http://www.madridandbeyond.com/

She was wonderful - we met her for a drink when we arrived in Madrid. She did a great job with hotels that were in or below our stated price range, guided tours, and generally good advice. She speaks excellent English and is very responsive on e-mail. There is no pushing for stuff you're not interested in. We're planning to return to Barcelona and Costa Brava in September, and are working with her again.
