We're traveling from Venice to Amalfi/Capri in ten days; should we rent a car or what?

Do you want to drive, or what?

No preference; but if roads are unnavigable, don't want to spend two days lost. Also don't know how long the drive is. Are the trains reliable, afordable, accessible? Are buses reliable, afordable, accessible and not disgusting?

Ellen, what type of research have you done so far to find the answers? Have you used any of the online map programs? Have you checked out the train schedules? We'd love to help you out, but you need to give us a little bit more information.

Am reading Fodors and Michelin and looking for advice here. Have hospitalized relative and very limited time online. Please clue me in to map programs and train schedule sites since I'm new to this.

Ellen, you can obtain train schedules and pricing through www.trenitalia.com -- just select that you want the information in English.

You have restored my faith in this website. This is the second response I have received with requested information. My first responses were all grammer correction, requests for longer inquiries and requests for more descriptive inquiries. Thanks again.
