Go to the taxi queue and take 2 cabs. It will be less than a shuttle. Fare for each would be in the vicinity of 15€. In addition to the meter amount there will be a small surcharge for picking up at the Gare and for each piece of luggage--just so you know they are not ripping you off. Print a map of your hotel's address from pagesjaunes.fr and give it to the driver.

Yes, I agree with Gretchen, forget about this shuttle nonsense (I don't even think they are allowed to get near a station intra muros, so powerful is the taxi lobby in Paris), go to the taxi queue about 100 m to the left when you exit the Eurostar, take two cabs and Bob's your uncle. The ride itself should be less than € 10, but there will be small extras due to luggage.

If your friend's family is traveling first class on Eurostar and the date of arrival is a busy travel day (holiday, for example), they might want to take advantage of Eurostar's taxi reservation service. I don't normally use it, but it did come in handy when I arrived in Paris on a particularly busy travel week-end.
