Transportation from Antwerp to Brussels

Hi,

We are spending the last night of our Belgium beer tour in Antwerp. The next morning we are taking the Chunnel to London which leaves from Brussels Midi. What's the best way to get to Brussels Midi from Antwerp? If we take a train do we need reservations in advance? Sunday October 22, 2006 is the day in question. Thanks.

You can by the tickets at the station if you like. Check on bahn.de for train schedules ... I took a train from Brussels to Antwerp and back with no problems, but I can't remember which station. You can always take the metro if you need to get from one train station to another in Brussels.

Trains between Antwerp and Brussels run every half hour and the trip lasts around 40 minutes. There are no reservations. The trains will terminate at Brussels Nord, from which you can change platforms and take a train to Brussels Midi. one stop. Be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your Eurostar train's departure time, since you will be required to "check-in" and pass through customs before boarding.

www.b-rail.be

There is about 2 fast direct trains an hour on Sundays from Antwerpen Centraal to Bruxelles-Midi where the Eurostar departs. No reservations necessary. Takes about 45 minutes.

You don't need to change trains at Bruxelles Nord. Basically all trains coming from Antwerp and the Netherlands will stop at Bruxelles Nord, then Central, then terminate at Midi.
