Transfer from Lisbon airport to Porto
Our group of eight old friends (four couples) are headed to Portugal next month on what is (I think) our 10th trip to Europe together.
We will fly to Lisbon and have decided to go immediately to Porto for five days before returning to Lisbon for another five days.
I know the usual method of Lisbon to Porto transfer would be to take a taxi to Oriente station and then the train to Porto.
However--to avoid what Husband John calls the "hassle factor," we are looking at the possibility of hiring a van and driver to take us to Porto directly from the airport. I know--it sounds crazy, but we will have been traveling for many hours when we arrive (ATL-CDG-LIS) and we know how tired we will be.
Have any Fodorites used Lisbon Airport Transfers? This company appears to offer good service for a not-totally-exorbitant rate.
Thanks for any comments about this company or our plan..

You're looking at a trip of several hundred miles and maybe 5-hours driving time in a Van.
Hassle factor or not, the Portela airport to Oriente Station and Alfa Pendular to Porto is probably your best solution: http://www.cp.pt unless you fly direct to Porto (I believe TAP Air Portugal does that). Check with TAP Air Portugal for specifics.
The Alfa takes about 3-hours (been there; done that) but the seats are huge with adequate legroom for catching a few Z's along the way.
NOTE
Be sure to get some Euros either from an ATM at Portela airport or one at Oriente station. The Stewards on the Alfa won't accept dollars.

Byrd,
I've never used the service you mention, but want to second Nedsireland's suggestion that you look into flying. There are ten TAP flights a day from Lisbon to Porto, and I have flown there for under 40E. Since you're already going to be at the airport, it might be the most hassle-free option.
I personally don't like those big passenger vans (nor do I know anything about the service you're considering), but the trip from the airport to Porto is about 300 km so it should be short and sweet.

Thank you both for the suggestion of flying Lisbon to Porto.
We had looked into flying to Porto from CDG and couldn't find a flight, but we had not considered a flight from Lisbon to Porto.
Thank you again!

On the return trip from Porto to Lisbon, you might consider the train for that leg of the trip.
One thing is you should be rested after your five days in Porto. Another is that you will travel from the station in Porto itself to a station in Lisbon. There would be no need to get to or from either airport. And you might enjoy a train ride. As Nedirland said, they are quite comfortable.
Good luck.
