Tranportation options between Genoa and Florence

I need to make a connection between Genoa and Florence next month. Normally, I would take a train but they all stop in Pisa. As I am travelling with my 73 YO mother, this will be a big hassle because of the staircases up and down she will have to navigate. I will also have to handle all the bags and that means one or two will be unaccompanied at some point in time.

A rental car is not an option for me. I am hoping that SITA has a bus option but cannot find a site in English that will help me out.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kfusto, I had never heard of bus service between Genoa and Florence so I went on Google. Lots of bus service in Genoa but it looks like, besides driving, there are two options, the train or flying. There is bus service from Genoa to the Genoa Airport. Would this be a better option for you?

Hi kf,

The 08:24 and the 18:52 trains from Genoa do not require changing trains.

Hi Ira,

Yes, I saw this but it is unlikely we can make the morning train and I prefer to get to Florence as soon as possible so I don't want to wait for the late one.

Looks like I will just have to make several trips up and down those stairs in the July heat. Yuk!

You could look into arrangements for a pickup at Pisa. At least that would be two less flights of train stairs to navigate between Pisa-Florence.
