Trains & Easter Monday
We are taking train from Venice to Munich on Easter Monday- it looks like on www.bahn.de, that most trains do not operate that day. Is this correct? Also, any suggestions for booking through www.bahn.de since the booking part is in German? I was hoping to book round trip tickets throught this site as it is much cheaper than raileurope. Do you know if euraide is same price as bahn.de? (we will originate in Munich)

Hi there-
I looked at DB's website. For April 12, 2004 (monday), there are:
1 non-stop train from Venezia S. Lucia to Munich, leaves at 13:29 & arrives at 20:28
4 trains (require 1 change) from Venezia S. Lucia to Munich between the hours of 6:51 & 15:17
I never tried booking on DB's website, but you can use www.freetranslation.com to help translate the German.

I see what you're saying. But if you click on the actual train # - another window pops up which lists all the intermediate stops, and at the bottom, it has an entry "days of operation".
I think all 5 trains that I listed will run on April 12, especially the fact that the DB website gives you the option of purchasing those train tickets.

Thanks, I went on freetranslation- that is super, however, it limits the number of entries at any one time-but I will go back- however, anotehr problem- on the bahn.de site, it does not have USA listed as a country to enter my address (uses prefilled countries)-strange! Do you think euraide is same cost as bahn.de? I am afraid to wait to purchase tickets due to the busy Easter season there. Any suggestions?

I'm afraid I don't know the answer, as I have never bought DB's ticket online. I hope our Germany experts will see your post and can answer your question.
When do you arrive in Germany? Would you consider waiting until then to buy your ticket?

If you don't get any response here, you can consider posting a new message with a title like "Please help with booking DB tickets online" or similar. And make sure you click on "Germany" in the "topic" box. Sometimes the Germany experts only read posts that are listed under "Germany", so if you don't click that option, your post will not show up to them.
