Train Travel-Prague, Vienna, Budapest

I will be travelling by train from Prague to Vienna to Budapest and back to Prague in October. I'm staying 4 nites in each city.
I have a question about train tickets...Do you reserve the tickets in USA or do you get the tickets at the station? I've checked out raileurope and dertravel sites but found to be confusing. I'm planning on point to point tickets rather than the pass. I'm looking for suggestions. Thanks!

Yes, I would wait until you get there to buy the tickets as they are cheaper. I got a round-trip from Vienna to Krakow and it was less than $40 in December, 2000.

Thanks Linda for your reply.

Note to Marsha:
I've checked out ricksteves.com site and he also recommend buying point to point tickets in europe and said was cheaper, too. check out the website and it also has lot of different tips.
You should go to the german rail site for train schedules & times before you leave. (rick steves site also has the german rail website to click on for the schedules). Have a great trip!

This page is good for timetables and prices of train journeys in Europe.

http://www.raileurope.com/us/rail/fa...ules/index.htm

There is no need to buy tickets in advance for train journeys like those mentioned above!
