logos dear - If you and other Germans came to northern Michigan where I live you would absolutely rave about this vast verdant area with some of the world's greatest lakes, huge sand dunes, etc. But locals here are jaded by all this and many are even blase like you are about Austria being scenic to foreigners.

Again what is scenic to foreigner's eye is not always scenic to a local's!
