All Venice, All The Time, All Week: HIP, HIP, HOORAY!
At long last . . . I'm leaving for Venice tomorrow. All I have to do is make it through today. Thanks everyone for all the information!! I am armed and ready. I'll be in Venice for 7 days (with maybe a one-day trip to Verone). I'm traveling solo for the first time. Sorry about this no-question message, but I can hardly contain my excitement.

Buon viaggio! Seven days, how wonderful; you'll have a great time. Brings back memories of how excited I was a little over two years ago (also was there for seven days and loved every minute of it, despite a lot of rain.)

Have a great trip. Treat yourself to all the things you would do if you weren't going solo. Then enjoy all the things you can do because you are going solo. Don't hold back.
Verona is a really nice city, by the way. The beautiful arena is worth a visit, there is a great pedestrian shopping street right near it, and lots of nice cafes and wine bars, too. Have fun -- I'm getting excited for you!

Buon viaggio, tanti auguri -- and lucky you, la fortunata!
Don't know if you have already had this advice but remember: Scuola di San Rocco, for the Tintorettos, and Chiesa dei frari. I have been to Venice maybe 10 times -- still bowled over by these 2.

Thanks capo, awbaker, annabelle2 and tedgale for the good wishes. I have both Scuola di San Rocco and the Chiesa dei frari on my list of things to see. I'm staying at the Boscuolo Hotel Bellini in Cannaregio.

Haven't been to Venice yet but it's at the top of my 'cities I most want to visit' list. Having trouble persuading my husband though - how could anyone not want to see Venice?? :'(
Have a fantastic time
