Train Genoa to Arles HELP!!

Has anyone taken a train trip from Genoa to Arles?
Is that a reasonable thought for a day of travel?
We will be leaving Chinque Terre heading to Provence (St Remy) in early June. Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks
Janelle

Hi Janelle, we traveled in the opposite direction about 5 years ago. Left Arles at 6:10 a.m. and I believe we arrived in Genoa around 3 p.m. I'm not sure of the exact time because we changed trains there and went on to La Spezia, arriving at 4 p.m. I think the ride from Genoa to La Spezia was about an hour, with all the stops. Hope this helps a little.

is it a pleasent trip?
Seems to be along ride but we thought it better than getting a car and driving that whole way.
Thanks for any input!

Its not a bad trip. I was surprised to see how many houses in the countryside and in the little towns we went through that had their own little plots, growing their own grapes. Of course, that is only entertaining for so long, and it is a long trip, but it's faster than driving.

Where are you staying in the Cinque Terre? We stayed in Manarola and loved it.

Have a great trip!
