Train from Verbier to Frankfurt

Hi,

We have to get to Frankfurt from Verbier to catch an international flight. Are there train connections between Verbier and Frankfurt airport? Please let me know.

Thanks!

Here is a follow up question -

I spent some time on the SBB site. It gives some crazy train connections like one train arrives on platform 50 and we have to switch to another train leaving from platform 2 in under 4 minutes etc. Really not sure how to go about booking this ticket.

Help!

Simple enough.

1. First we check German Railways www.bahn.de/en to book Verbier to Frankfurt, but we see that it won't given any prices from Verbiers...

2. So now we use www.sbb.ch swiss railways to check Verbiers to Basel and we see that the first mainline station the route pass through is Martigny.

3. OK, so now we book Martigny to Frankfurt Flughafen at www.bahn.de/en and bingo, up come advance-purchase sparpreis (saver) fares from €39. Result!! Allow loads of time when connecting with an international flight, of course.

4. Now all you need to do is buy a Verbiers to Martigny local ticket at the station locally - check he price and times Verbiers to Martigny to connect with your chosen Martigny-Frankfurt ticket using www.sbb.ch, don't cut anything too fine, but yes, a connection in Switzerland only takes minutes.

Track 50 to 2? I presume you are referring to Martigny station. Just look at the map http://www.sbb.ch/content/dam/infras...artigny-a4.pdf. While they are not on the same platform, they are very close.

Great information. Thank you! And thanks for the map of Martigny. I was looking for it on the sbb site but could not find it. The connections make sense now!

Martigny:
track 1, track 40 and track 50 are all on platform 1.
If you travel via Martigny - Lausanne - Biel/Bienne (a bit longer, but scenic ride along Lakes Geneva, Neuchatel and Bienne), you will have to change trains in all 3 railway stations, but always on the same platform.
