Train from Paris to Interlaken
Can anyone give me train information from Paris to Murren, Switzerland? Any help is much appreciated. I'm having some difficulty figuring out the TGV website times and thought I'd check in with you guys for assistance.

Thanks from a first timer!

You can check the schedules nicely at
http://www.rail.ch/pv/index_e.htm

It's about an 8 hour trip from Gare de Lyon to Mürren, though some trips a bit shorter. You'll find about 5 connections required, but they all work reliably.

Earliest train at 0744, last (without an overnight) at 1340.

twenj

The schedule works as Ed says, unfortunately, the SBB site when I looked at it did NOT give accurate information, which surprised me because it is usually reliable.
Your best plan is this:

Leave Gare de Lyon at 7:44 TGV 9281
Arrive Bern 12:29
Leave Bern 13:26
Arrive Mürren 15:30

At Interlaken Ost you change for Lauterbrunnen.
In Lauterbrunnen you walk up a short hill to the furnicular that takes you up to Grutschalp, about an 11 minute ride.
At Grutschalp, you board a small train, about 2 cars maximum, for Mürren.

The cost to Interlaken Ost at second class fares is 87.05 euros.
About $80.00.

The cost from Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen is 6.20 CHF, about $3.75 just about .90 franc per kilometer!

I could not get the whole cost of the trip because the Lauterbrunnen - Mürren section of the trip is on a private line not under Eurail pricing. Neither the Swiss site nor the French site gives that data.

If the ticket taker on the Grutschalp - Mürren leg is a slender fellow about 5'11" with dark hair and a moustache, ask him if his name is Colin Pearson.
I know him.
I am not sure what was wrong with my inquiry to the SBB (Swiss Rail) site.
I re did my query, and got the right answers. So either there was a temporary glitch in the system or I fumble fingered my original inquiry.
I don't think it was me. But, no matter, the right stuff comes up now.
