Train from Frankfurt to Prague question

We are taking the overnight train to Prague from Frankfurt. My question is will we have to change trains once we get to the Czech border? 2) What if this is in the middle of the night (we leave Frankfurt at 10.40 PM)what will this be like? Thanks for your help and advice!

Certainly not.

When you go to bed in your sleeper you keep your passports handy, and about 0438 officials knock on your door, you put on your lights, and they read your passport while you stay in bed. First German officers visit you, then Czech, and at 0500 you lock your door, switch off your lights, and go back to sleep. If you have no sleeper you ll have a fairly sleepless night, and sleepers are cheap.
In case they are useful, I am adding to the e-mail copy of this message a long note on night travel in Europe.

Please beware of pickpockets in Prague Hlavni station.

Your train leaves Frankfurt main station at 11.37, not 10.40, but you can go to bed there from about 11 pm.

Please write if I can help further.

Ben Haines, London

You might want to set your alarm for 4am as the German and Czech border police will board the train at Marktredwitz DE (arrival 0406) and depart at Cheb CZ. I've lived here for 5 years now so if you want, take a look at this link and it'll give you a bag of info;
http://www.geocities.com/jasoncholt/praha.html

Jason
