Train from Florence to Munich
We (friend and I) will be traveling from Florence to Munich in mid June. We are thinking of taking the night train rather than the day train....to give us more time to see Munich. What suggestions do you have for taking this train? is it a sleeper kind of train...or reclining chairs? Should be buy our tickets ahead of time or can we get them there a few days before we leave?

The Allegro Tosca night train departs Florence at 9:53pm and arrives in Munich at 6:30am. It is a sleeper train with cabins from couchettes to deluxe. It's very comfortable. It makes 8 stops, but I sleep very well on trains, so I never notice.

Thanks...that is the train we are planning on taking. Hopefully we can get our tickets when we get to Italy....we will be in Florence for a month and won't be traveling to Munich until mid June....do you think it will be a problem getting reservations once we get to Italy?

Night trains on certain routes at certain times of the year are the trains most likely to book up first, because of the limited space. Because you are there a month you should have no problem booking space if you get your tickets right away.
