train from cdg to rambouillet?

I am going to France for the first time and am unfamiliar with the trains there. I need to go from CDG to Rambouillet. Can someone tell me what trains to take? (I assume I will have to go into Paris and channge lines). Or what might a taxi charge for this trip? thanks.

Trains to Rambouillet leave from the Paris Montparnasse station. You can take the RER train from CDG to St. Michel, continue by Metro to Montparnasse, and from there take the train to Rambouillet.

There are several options to get to Montparnasse from CDG.

The all train method, the cheapest, is the most stressful with luggages. I have done metro to RER for Rambouillet; the correspondance (the connection path) seemed to go on and on at Monparnasse.

Other options to Montparnasse are

- Air France bus to Montparnasse

- Taxi: very expensive

Ride RER B to St-Michel Notre Dame 36 min.

Take RER C to Viroflay RG 30 min.

Pick up SNCF train to Rambouillet 40 min.

The correspondance at St-Michel involves going up one level using the escalators.

The easiest way is the one described by greg. Take the Air France bus to Montparnasse and then go onto a suburban train to Rambouillet

Thanks for all of the replies. This is great info! Unfortunately, there has been a slight change of plans...I still need to go to Rambouillet, but I have to fly into Frankfurt, Germany. Any suggestions on getting a train from Frankfurt to Paris, where I can transfer to a Rambouillet train? Thanks!

The German Rail site will give you the information you need. The English version is at:

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

Enter FRA for the departure station and Rambouillet for the destination station.
