In my opinion, www.mappy.com is the current leader in giving you a zoomable, printable map of almost any town you want with excellent clean appearance and yet remarkable detail.

Best wishes,

Rex
Why don't you just drop a letter to the tourist offices of the towns you're interested in and ask them for one. You can also get hotels, restaurant information. Write to:
Office de Tourisme
Name of Town
France
E-mail me for more information- [email protected]

Here's a website:

http://www.multimap.com/index/

1. Choose France
2. Then, choose regional France
3. Then, you can access the various city maps.

This appears to be a good one, folks, and has many countries in its listing.
How accurate? Can't say for sure. I'll let others access their own city map and post reviews.
Fodors

Multimap has a great range of regional maps, including such rarities as the provinces of Bangladesh, but I found no French town maps nor street maps, so they may be no use for reaching hotels.

Ben Haines
