I used attraction in the sense of sight(regardless how many people are attracted to it) and you agree that it is a minor sight,
Thanks for drawing my attention to that historic planetarium it looks indeed of great importance and a more interesting sight than the AFH and the Pete's house combined, but it's a long way from Amsterdam. I hope I get to Friesland one day.
Minor sights can be often just as great or greater experiences than landmarks and top 10 sights visited by hordes of travellers. If more and more tourists will realise this it'lll be the part of a solution to the overtourism in Amsterdam. It's more sustainable if tourists are sperad out between visiting dozens of minor sights than crowding at th top 10 sights.

De Groene Amsterdammer is a respectable topical weekly that has existed for over a century.
The intention of the current city government is to curb tourism (slightly). There now is a big debate on the future of the RLD as RLD.
Which sleep cities do you mean btw? Almere?
Point is: short lets, an increasing expat pressure on the housing market and overtourism are creating the perfect storm, while the positive outcomes for the city are very limited at best, or realistically, non-existent.
(For instance, in many earlier studies, booking.com, which has its head office in Amsterdam was counted as being "in the Amsterdam tourism business" and so its revenue was duly added to the "tourism surplus" that makes the tourism balagan worthwhile.

IMO, you can debate how much of those billions has a direct impact on Amsterdammers (jobs of employees, income for business owners, taxes paid on both etc.). But just using the 60 million as proof for tourism being a bad deal for Amsterdam is a bit OTT.
And yes, sleep cities like Almere, Weesp, Amstelveen, Hoofddorp etc.
You cannot assume that, given the small size of the actual city of Amsterdam, the neighboring communities have no impact as in shopping, entertainment and going out.

As I pointed out, booking.com's revenue was counted as "income from tourism".
anyway, in 10 years' time or so, the problem will solve itself. No more cheap (short haul) flights.
