Tour of Prague

We are thinking of booking a tour of Europe to include Prague in Sept. What will the weather be at that time? Has anyone traveled with Smartours to that area? We will visit Auschwitz and other places as well. Any info greatly appreciated. Will 3 days be enough there? And what particular points of intrest should we definately visit?

3 days is a good amount of time to visit Prague itself. Visit the Hradcany castle, get lost in the streets of Stare Mesto, go shopping at the huge Bata in Wencelas Square, see the astronomical clock in the city square, or visit one of the many teahouses in the city.

I have not yet been to Prague (will be there next week at this time), but did use Smartours in 1997 for a trip to China.

In our case with Smartours, they turned us over to a local guide. We thought that we would join a group, but it was just my wife and I with a car and driver plus an English speaking guide. All this for a cheap cost at the time. We were very satisfied.

Sorry that this does't answer your question.

Thank you both for your messages. I have made notes rv in re: to things you suggested. tatersalad you will have to write and let me know how your trip to Prague goes and what you saw and did and how long you are there. I traveled to China with SmarTours in 01 and was happy. Had one tour guide the entire trip as well as city guides in each place. And we were in a large group. Very well contained and our guide was quite sharp. I will post another question in another entry. Thanks again!

For tours to primarily Jewish sites have a look at the offer of wittmann- tours.com as people have told me that their knowledge is over and above the regular.

Hi
If you click at the top of this screen on Destinations, you will eventually get to a lot of great fodors information about Prague.
The livingprague website maintained by Jason above is an outstanding resource.

No one knows what the weather will be of course, but www.wunderground.com has both historical weather information and you can also use one of its functions to find weather probabilities far in advance.

I have a file on Prague; if you'd like to see it, email me at
