Tour Montparnasse

Is the Montparnasse tower worth going to/up in? I've heard there is a view restaruant and bar/cafe there. I've never been to that area of Paris.

If my plane takes off for Paris I'll be on it.

Harvey: Yes, the Tour Montparnasse will give you a magnificent view over Paris and over the Eiffel Tower. There is a nice restaurant called "Ciel de Paris" where you can have meals, but also just go for tea or a drink at the bar.
It will be less crowded than the Eiffel Tower or La Grande Arche.
Montparnasse is a nice and lively area. However, the tower itself is not that terrific to look at. You should walk the small street towards the Luxembourg Gardens where you will discover a lot of nice houses, shops, restaurants.

Enjoy Paris!

I went to the tower this past June. I agree that the view is worth it.

We've been to the top about 4 times, it's well worth it, the view is fantastic and it's usually no where near as crowded as the Eiffel Tower (at least the times we've been).
