We used the services of Tatyana Churikova last year. She is a tour-guide and has registered her own tour company. Her English is great, history knowledge unbelievable. We had particular requests during our visit - we didn't want to spend all our time at museums, as we felt one of the joys of travel is to see a place in a way that ordinary tourists in buses can't. She was really flexible, took us to little streets, food markets, a communal apartment of her friends, cosy local places to have lunch.... and amazing stories of life during the Soviet times, perestroika.etc. We feel we understood much more about Russian history and culture, and this was the person who could deliver it to us. I would recommend her to everyone. www.tour-stpetersburg.com

We visited St. Petersburg last year (cruise)...some used Denrus and others Red October and all seemed pleased.
We used Denrus for a group of 14 folks and were very happy...but I would caution you that you should, IMO, SEE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE in the time you are there..I mean really pack it in because if you don't you'll regret it.

I highly recommend Alla tours. We used her in 6/07 for a 3 day strenuous tour and were very happy. We recommended her to our friends who used her this past summer and agreed that the services, guides, etc. were well worth the money. Other friends have used denrus and red october. All have been happy but we would definitely use Alla again.
