When? Where from and where to? What kind of tour - daytrip, multi-city, or what?

John, since you tagged this post as 'Netherlands' I assume you want to visit there. Do you want a fully escorted tour of the country? Or are you talking about local tours, say of Amsterdam, or 1/2 day tours to some smaller towns..?

I have no experience of tour companies within the Netherlands.
If you are just planning to do day trips out from Amsterdam to some of the tourist attractions then you could consider going it alone. The public transport system is pretty good and if you are prepared to take trains and buses you can get to most of the major touristy sites, and a lot of not so touristy things.
Tell us a bit more about what you want, when you will be visiting, what you hope to see, and we'll do our best to help.

Have a look at:
http://amsterdam.mokumevents.com/
http://www.canal.nl/en/index.php
http://www.amsterdam.info/tours/
http://www.amsterdamcitytours.com/
http://www.lovers.nl/
http://www.toursandtickets.nl/
for a start. I just Googled Amsterdam tours and these came up. There are plenty more there too. I have no experience of most of them. Lovers and Canal.nl are standard boat trips. They will all be fine though.
Also when you arrive in Amsterdam visit the VVV, tourist information for even more leaflets and recommendations. There are many bus tours out to Volendam and the like.
The official tourist information site is :
http://www.iamsterdam.com/en/visiting
There are tourist information offices at Schiphol, and across from Centraal Station in the Hollandse Koffiehuis, or open Tuesday through Saturday there is an office on platform 2a at Centraal station.
