Caitlin -
Curious as I'd never heard name of this particular town -- so pulled out my map of Tuscany and "Torre Del Laggo Puccini" (ain't that a mouthful?) is located in western portion of Tuscany, almost to the coast. You are well located for a short drive north to Viareggio or in opposite direction, south to Pisa or heading further inland to Lucca.

Couldn't find alot of info online. As the name of this place suggests, Giacammo Puccini lived there. His villa is now a museum.
http://www.emmeti.it/Welcome/Toscana.../index.uk.html

MUSEO VILLA PUCCINI
Location:
PIAZZA BELVEDERE
TORRE DEL LAGO PUCCINI
TEL. 0584/341445

We were in Torre del Lago last July for the puccini Festival. It is a somewhat grim city by the coast. The site for the festival is on a large lake where you can take a boat cruise. They are trying to make the lake a bird reserve and to reverse some of the pollution damage from over the years. It is about an hour to Pisa, maybe less. Its really a pretty anonymous part of Italy and I would imagine that you take day trips from there to see ither sites.
